REVENGE THRILLER TO REAL-LIFE UNDERDOG STORY INDIE FILM CHICAGO ROT ANNOUNCES APRIL 4 DIGITAL RELEASE, MUSIC BOX THEATRE SHOWING APRIL 6!

The team behind the local independent film Chicago Rot is proud to announce that after six years of staged (and actual) blood, sweat, and tears, the acclaimed horror/thriller has secured a distribution deal for DVD and digital release via Midnight Releasing, the prestige label of parent company M3. On April 4th, Chicago Rot will be available for digital rental and purchase on several online platforms, including Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, Xbox, VUDU, and Vimeo On Demand.

The gruesome supernatural thriller, which has received accolades from outlets including Bloody Disgusting and Horror Freak News, was built from the ground up by a group of graduates from Chicago’s Tribeca Flashpoint College that left film school hell-bent on planting their stake as filmmakers in the city they are proud to call home. The Rot Crew recruited exclusively Chicago-based cast, crew, artists, and musicians for Chicago Rot as a proclamation of their commitment to showcasing the enormous storytelling potential possessed by this city’s talent and locations. For a film that bills itself as a “brute force tragedy”, Chicago Rot has proven to be anything but for the cast and crew.

In celebration of the film’s release, IFP Chicago will present a special screening of Chicago Rot, directed by IFP Chicago member Dorian Weinzimmer, at the Music Box Theatre (3733 N. Southport Ave.) on Thursday, April 6th, at 9:30pm. A Q&A with cast and crew will follow the screening. This event is open to the public and tickets are available now: https://www.musicboxtheatre.com/order/add-tickets/10322
