We here at FDTC are excited to bring you the first look of the follow up to last year's She Was So Pretty. She Was So Pretty: Be Good For Goodness Sake from Dirt Candy Productions!
In 2016 Dirt Candy Productions released their first feature film, She Was So Pretty. Director, Brooklyn Ewing, and her team, have been hitting the convention scene hard over the past year, and after a debuting the film at Days of the Dead in Indianapolis, a buzz began to build. On October 21st, 2016, Brooklyn was named Best Director at Nightmares Film Fest in Columbus, Ohio at The Gateway Film Center, and on , She Was So Pretty will have completed a complete cycle at Days of the Dead's 48 Hour Film Festival.
Dirt Candy's determination, creative marketing, and 70s-infused filmmaking style helped them launch their first film into the public eye, and now in 2017 their second film, She Was So Pretty: Be Good for Goodness Sake is already in production. Part two will feature a darker, violence-filled look into the life of misguided romantic serial killer, Alfie James Ellis III, and a cast of new, and returning, characters from the original.
Budget constraints weigh on most filmmakers, but Ewing managed to make her first film on a $0 budget, and is still fundraising for the sequel as they work through the shooting schedule. They have already raised $6,000, and are offering photo shoots with Brooklyn, marketing promotions, and more for your donation. They are even making a couple Associate Producer credits available.
If you would like to donate to help Ewing and the Dirt Candy team take Be Good for Goodness Sake to the next level, you can donate to their Fundly.
Dirt Candy offered us up a first look at a few promotional stills from shooting over the weekend. This installment of the film introduces Cinematographer, Joe Huck to the scene. This is Huck's first feature, and foray into the world of horror. Be Good for Goodness Sake also welcomes a new Detective Baldwin this time around. Corey Rutter will be taking on the sadistically wacky role. This is Rutter's first feature, but his extensive stage resume speaks for itself, including taking on the lead, Ash, in Evil Dead: The Musical.
